About Us

“Bridge Between Creativity and Creation”

Portal is a bi-lingual eco-spiritual art retreat in English and Spanish that explores art as ceremony; creativity and movement become sacred practice and a return to source

Portal is a bilingual eco-spiritual art retreat in Ecuador dedicated to remembering creativity as our original language. Rooted in the wisdom of the land and guided through English and Spanish facilitation

Portal weaves music, clay, upcycling, movement and ritual, into a living practice of ceremony. The retreat cultivates a pragmatic spirituality: one that is felt in the body, tested through action, and nourished through relationship with the Earth. Here, art becomes a bridge between inner and outer worlds — a way to meet ourselves, each other, and the Earth with reverence. Through embodied creation, communal storytelling, and deep connection with sacred territory, participants awaken the truth that creativity is not something we do, but something we are. Portal invites each soul to step through the threshold of land, body, and spirit to reclaim imagination as a path of healing, remembrance, and becoming.

meet the Founders

Miranda Ratner

Miranda Ratner is a Los Angeles–born visual artist, yoga teacher, and creative ritual facilitator whose work transforms discarded materials into mandalas, tapestries, and experiences of renewal. Her practice weaves art, movement, and Earth-based spirituality, inviting others to see beauty, value, and possibility in what has been overlooked.

Miranda often finds soul family in unexpected corners of the world, and it was in the Ecuadorian cloud forest that she met fellow artist Cati. From their shared devotion to creativity, ceremony, and play, Portal was born. As co-founder, Miranda brings her gifts in creative upcycling, embodiment, and sacred ritual to guide participants into deeper connection with themselves, one another, and the living Earth—supporting cross-cultural exchange rooted in reverence, reciprocity, and imagination.
